Background:

Founded by psychologist and lifelong diver Dr. Debra Winegarden, MindDivers brings a unique, restorative philosophy to mental healthcare. With a focus on "diving beneath the surface," the agency provides a non-judgmental space for healing. They offer a robust suite of services often hard to find under one roof in the Central Valley, including psychiatry, psychotherapy, sex therapy, executive coaching, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for treatment-resistant depression.

Local Leadership & Specialized Care:

To ensure the highest quality of care for the Bakersfield community, MindDivers has appointed Amy Sanchez as the Kern County Clinic Manager. An Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT #132651), Sanchez brings over a decade of experience in county crisis services and inpatient hospitals.

Crucially for our diverse demographic, Sanchez and the MindDivers team offer Spanish-speaking services and specialize in EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a vital tool for veterans and residents processing trauma and PTSD. The facility is fully wheelchair accessible, ensuring care is within reach for all residents.

Quote from Edward S. Robinson, KCVCC President & CEO:

"A core pillar of the KCVCC mission is Health & Wellness. Access to compassionate, competent mental health care is a critical need for our veterans and the community at large. By supporting MindDivers, we are not only championing a veteran-owned business, but we are also connecting our residents with the resources they need to thrive, not just survive."

About KCVCC:

The Kern County Veterans Chamber of Commerce advocates for and empowers veterans in Kern County by fostering a supportive business environment and connecting veterans with resources and community partners.
